Excellent golf club at Habsberg

The Scottish world class professional Colin Montgomerie opened the Graham Marsh Design Course at Habsberg with the tee of the »Golden Ball« in the Summer of 2002. The course got its name from the world class golf architect Graham Marsh, who had planned and had built the 18-hole golf course in the village of Unterwiesenacker near the pilgrimage church Habsberg. The golf club is 89 hectares in size and impresses with its perfect condition, diverse and challenging courses as well as the large, near-natural areas and biotopes. Due to that, a round of golf is not only a sporting event, but also an experience of nature.

The environmental program »Golf and Nature« of the German Golf Association (DGV), together with the Federal Agency of Nature Conversation (BFN), awarded the golf club the highest award, the certificate in gold. The GC Habsberg does not only participate in the Champions League in the matter of nature and environment, it is also highly regarded worldwide amongst sportsmen. Germany’s most famous golfer, Martin Kaymer, managed to play a round with only 59 shots as the first European ever. Nowadays, many guests from all over Germany pay a visit to the golf club (more than 8,000 guest rounds in 2012) and more than 600 members have found their golf home at the golf club at Habsberg.

Those who want to treat themselves to some fine food after a sporty round can do so in the restaurant of the former star cook Eduard Aßmann (Gasthaus Schwarzer Adler Nuremberg).
